Cami's Big Day

Cami turned one on Sunday and we spent the entire day celebrating! Cami woke up to balloons...a family tradition that my parents started and that we have been doing with Brayden and now Cami. Although Ben and I do get quite lightheaded the night before, it is so worth the look on the kiddos face when the wake up to a sea of balloons. We quickly ate breakfast and then we were off to the aquarium. Cami got to ride down facing forward and she loved the fact that she could watch Elmo with her brother!
The aquarium was tons of fun with only one hitch...no strollers allowed! We checked our stroller and were loaned a backpack carrier for Cami. It did work out for everyone but me! I had to carry the diaper bag loaded with sippy cups, diapers, snacks through the whole museum. Let's just say that my shoulder and neck were very sore...if I had known about the whole no stroller policy, I would have packed a back pack!
Brayden loved seeing all the fish but he was a little scared of the sharks, even though that was what he was the most excited to see! Cami liked to bang on the glass...she is such a rule breaker! Both kiddos liked the dolphin show and it was a nice break from my diaper bag :)
After the aquarium, we had lunch at Hard Rock Cafe. I was a little disappointed because they didn't sing to Cami and didn't even have any candles for her brownie sundae...don't worry, she didn't eat all by herself, we are teaching her to share!
The kiddos napped on the ride home. Mum and Papa came over to celebrate both Cami and Papa's birthday...they share a birthday. We bought them a yummy cake. Cami really enjoyed the icing!
Cami had a busy, busy birthday but the celebrating doesn't stop...her family and friends party is coming up this weekend. So it's more cake and presents for our little princess!

First Birthday Photo Session

We took Cami for her first birthday photo session on Saturday and although she didn't give us any of her big smiles, we did actually get some really cute shots! I love the cupcake pictures, which I have thanks to Jenn.

We tried to get some of both kiddos but they just weren't having it! The photographer did get some great shot of Brayden, which is good because I can use them as back up if we don't get any good shots at his 3rd birthday photo session.

Don't mind the watermarks...

Happy Birthday Cami!!!

Today my little girl turns one and I am in complete shock...where did this first year go? Just yesterday, Ben drove us through the snowy roads to the hospital. Just yesterday, did the doctor announce "It's a Camryn!" Just yesterday, did I get to meet my not-so little baby girl (Yeah, she was 10 lbs. 6 oz.!!!) and fall completely in love with her.

Today, she is a big girl. She has this wonderful smile and great laugh. She is so beautiful and I love every second we spend together. Although I miss that little baby I brought home from the hospital, I can't wait to watch her grow into a strong, beautiful, intelligent women.

Side note: Putting up these pictures, I just noticed that she is doing the same thing with her lips...what a cutie!

Funny Things...

Brayden is on a roll lately with the funny things that come out of his mouth...

Brayden has a rash so I took him to the doctor's office. He opened the door, walked in and said "I'm here and I have a rash!" to the whole waiting room! At least, a couple of the other parents laughed as they were grabbing their kids to keep them away from Brayden.

Both the kiddos were yelling and screaming for breakfast, after I got them settled I said "Now, everyone is happy." Brayden replied "I'm not happy" and I said "Why aren't you happy?" Brayden then said "My butt itches!" He is truly an icky boy!

After a particularly tough morning with the kiddos, Brayden took a picture for our wedding and brought it over to me. He told me who all the people in the picture were and then he said "Look a Mommy, she looks like a princess!" He is such a kiss up but we love him anyway!

She's Such a Big Girl!

I can't believe that Cami will be one in just one short week! This year has flown by...where has the time gone? Cami is turning into to such a big girl! We replaced two of her four bottle with whole milk this week and she is doing great with her sippy cup.
Cami is also eating only table food...no more baby food for this big girl! She, like her brother, refuses to eat fruits and veggies...what is it about my kids? I try not worry because Brayden doesn't eat fruits or veggies and he is growing just fine but still...give this mommy a break, would ya! Although Cami is a much better eater than Brayden. Tonight she ate 2 chicken finger, a smiley french fry, buttered noodle and her favorite's....Gerber's yogurt melts. She can eat a whole bag in a sitting...which is not doing our wallet any favorites at close to $4.oo a bag!
Cami has also started walking while pushing her stroller. She looks so different standing up...I know I am supposed to dread the day that she walks but I just can't wait and either can Brayden. He needs a racing mate...the boy never stops running! But we all know that runs in the family!

Thanks Coach!

I just don't know where Brayden is learning some of the stuff he says, but it is so funny!

Yesterday, the weather was absolutely beautiful! It was 60 degrees and we spent most of the morning outside. Daddy built the new swing set and Brayden, Cami and I played and enjoyed the spring-like weather. We got the basketball hoop out for Brayden and he handed me the ball and said "Hold out your hands, aim the ball at the net, and shoot!" It was too funny! I mean, where did he come up with this. We haven't played basketball since the fall. Maybe preschool, maybe Mickey...if he would have cursed, I would know it was Ben and I (yes, we are working on that!).

I just love this stage in his development. He is such a little man and we can have a conversation. I am so proud of how he is growing up!

What a Difference a Day Makes!

Yesterday was sunny and mild and today was cold and snowy...Thanks global warming! Ben was able to escape the office early and he and the kiddos went outside to play in the snow. Brayden had a great time and Cami was much happier in her new snowsuit.

It's a Beautiful Day!

The temperature reached the 50's today so after we got home from Library class, the kiddos and I played outside for a bit. It was so nice to feel the warmth of the sun! Brayden rode his bike for the first time since the fall and I can definitely tell that he has grown...his feet actually reach the pedals now. He was so proud of himself because he was able to pedal his self forward some (with the help of a slight hill). I can't wait for the spring weather, but we will be waiting 6 more weeks according to the stupid, old gopher Phil!

All ready to ride!

Brayden was not happy with a camera happy Mommy!
